The wonderful Jeanne Moreau would have been 98 today.

Here is the late Norman Eshley (in what turned out to be his last full interview) talking about the pleasure of working with Moreau and Orson Welles in ‘The Immortal Story’.

‘My first day was to get into bed with Jeanne Moreau. And the day before, she’d been doing a scene where she was going around snuffing out candles and preparing for me to come into this room. And she was almost naked. But you could, you know, she had a peignoir that you could see through. And Welles said to me, ‘Get out of here, Norman, you’re too young to see this’. And I thought, well, Christ, I’m in bed with her the next day  – and I was!’
