103-year-old veteran pays tribute to captain of sunk WW2 battleship

This is a remarkable man with a special place in history.
Now 103, Marshall Badham, of Pembrokeshire, must be one of the last survivors – if not the very last survivor – of the sinking of HMS Repulse in 1941.
The Repulse was sunk by the Japanese in the South China Sea three days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. More than 500 of the 1,300-strong crew lost their life.
The man that Marshall pays tribute to here, Repulse’s captain William Tennant, had been a beach master during the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 and would go on to organise the Mulberry harbours during the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
*This video belongs to my old schoolfriend, Stephen Cook, who is Mr Badham’s grandson. I’m honoured to be able to post this from Marshal and Stephen. Stephen has also sent me a longer video which I will post soon.
